MC PASS Building Control Application Process

STEP ONE

Call or email us to discuss your project and we will send you a quote.

Next, please complete our online application form. This can be done here on our website or simply call us on 01202 744966.

You can upload any files while filling in the application form or email them to us at a later date.

STEP TWO

Once we have received your application, the administration staff will submit an Initial Notice to the Local Authority. The Local Authority require five working days notice before works start on site. 

If required, we will carry out a full Building Regulations Plan Assessment and inform you of any additional information required.

STEP THREE

After 5 working days your Initial Notice is automatically accepted. Should there be any complications we will contact you.

The next stage will be the Plan Assessment of the submitted plans. Any additional information required will be requested prior to the issuing of a Plan Certificate.

You will then need to inform us of the commencement date of works on site. 

 

STEP FOUR

You will require our services throughout the project as works progress. Each stage is identified in the Acknowledgement Letter sent to yourself after the application has been submitted.

You can call us on 01202 744966 at any time to discuss your project or to book a site visit. You can also contact your inspector directly; their details can be found on the Acknowledgement Letter. 

LAST

STEP FIVE

When your project is at completion stage, we will carry out a final inspection and issue you with a Final Certificate.

Application forms

We have two application forms to choose from, if it’s a new build please use the formation of new dwellings only. For anything else, please use the general application form. If you have any questions, please call or email the Business Support team and they would be happy to assist.

High-risk building application process

Clients, principal designers and principal contractors for projects involving a higher-risk building must comply with the Building Safety Act 2022. A higher-risk building is a building that has at least:

  • 7 storeys or is at least 18 metres high
  • Is a hospital or care home which includes 2 residential units

General application form

This application form relates to all works associated with a material alteration, for example, internal structural alterations, extensions, drainage installations, thermal alterations and loft conversions along with alterations and new constructions associated with commercial buildings.

New dwellings and flats only

This application form relates solely to all works associated with the creation of a new dwelling house, apartment and or a new block of flats.
